Meet Orion, The Mystic Orb Weaver.

This gorgeous Orb Weaver spider was ethically sourced (deceased when found).
Her stunning silvery colour and her hairy body instantly gave me magical mystical vibes... and made me think of Aragon from Harry Potter. I instantly named her Orion, and  wanted to honour this beauty by creating her a mystical, celestial night garden scene for her to 'live' in.
This comprises of a silver crescent moon, enchanting holographic stars, and natural dried botanical elements.There also small web details.

Orion is a beautiful speciemn, but had obviously been gone a long time as her abdomen had dried quite flat, so I wanted to do something give it some life. Creating a tiny celestial scene was the perfect option. I did this by painting her abdomen, then adding micro flakes of genuine sterling silver, adding a crescent moon and a guiding star.  I then added a few fine layers of high grade resin to protect the scene I created, and to add some dimension to her abdomen.

I've also reinforced all of her leg joints to keep her strong as I set her into her 'living' position.

This captivating scene is housed in an enchanting window pendant which allows you to see every detail front and back..you can ever see her fangs tucked underneath. It is made from stainless steel and has perspex windows and measures 6cm wide x 7cm tall.
