I was always a creative child who grew up in a small town, living a simple life surrounded by nature.
I spent many of my days wandering in my backyard, sitting on my favourite tree stump, studying all of the little 'treasures' I would find on the ground.
I could never walk past a pretty rock, an interesting leaf, or a deceased insect without picking it up. I would incorporate my little collections into artistic creations, or would use them to inspire my stories, paintings and sculptures.
As I got older, I became more involved in lapidary, jewellery making and entomology. I also loved to write poetry, fables and fantasy and have a passion for antiques and old worlds. I found a way to combine all of these elements into jewellery heirlooms....encompassing my love of insects with the beauty of rocks and crystals, and giving each piece its own fairytale identity. It has taken me many years to hone my craft and I am now proud to be able to share it with others.
I am a mother and carer of two young adults with Autism, so life can be very repetitious and demanding, but so rewarding.  I find great therapy and comfort in the ability to tap into my inner child, escape into my imagination, and be the artist I was born to be, aswell as the special needs mother I need to be.
I am blessed to be able to do both.
I do not harm any insect for my art, all creatures are ethically sourced, and my work is my way of paying homage to these amazing little creatures.
I hope you enjoy looking at them, as much as I enjoy creating them.
Thank you for visiting my little Fairytale world
Much love
Fiona
