Ondine, The Faerie Queen

 This majestic creation started with the wings of a large lanternfly. I was inspired to make a Queen as their beautiful details and colours felt so regal.

The wings have been embellished with shining silver motifs, and are coated and preserved for durability. Ondines elaborate centrepiece is crafted from repurposed and upcycled antique jewellery. Her main body is an ornate, 'Crown Jewel' style silver piece with dazzling lilac czech crystals, and her slender end is solid sterling silver, set with genuine amethysts. 💜✨️

The necklet is also genuine Amethyst and is adjustable from 45cm to 50cm in length; fittings are sterling silver. Pendant wingspan is 8.5cm.

I chose purple to create this Queen as it is the colour of royalty, and it also really brings out the tones of those amazing wings.
