This creation is inspired by my love of the Roaring 2O's.
What an era!
The iconic art deco styles, the flapper dancers, the feathers and tassels, and of course the black and white silent movies.
This piece is also inspired by the silent Screen Queen; actress 'Clara Bow'.

The 20's design, the black and white colouring,  the bow shaped setting of the wings, the art deco centrepiece and tassel... all a dedication to this actress and this amazing era.
These beautiful monochromatic wings are from the lanterflies featured in a previous post.
They have been pressed, preserved and coated, and will now last a lifetime. The Bow shape is a dedication to Clara's surname 'Bow'.

I have created the stunning centrepiece using a repurposed, genuine, antique art deco jewellery piece.
It is all solid sterling silver and marcasite, set with shimmering Mother of Pearl. Its shape reminds me of an art deco light sconce....something you'd see on the wall of an old movie theatre.

And of course no roaring 20s piece is complete without a tassle.
This one is made from stainless steel; the tassel chains reflect golden flashes as the light hits.
I've hung this from a genuine vintage silver chain.
The chain link is open so can be fastened at any length, and is also long enough to be worn doubled as a shorter piece.
This grand dame has a wing span of 12cm and the length including tassel is 11cm long.
