This stunning piece was created with a wing from a large blue butterfly.

The butterfly was ethically sourced, but was badly damaged when I got her, so this is the one wing I could salvage and set.

The amazing colours on this wing change from metallic pewters to rich ocean blues, and I have placed flakes of genuine 24 karat gold along the base to add shimmering contrast.
I've coated the wing in multiple layers to preserve it, with the final layer leaving a very durable and glass-like finish.
To compliment this I have repurposed an elegant vintage, gold plated brooch into a pendant , and have set it with a gorgeous colourful Australian opal triplet.
The Wing is 7cm long and hangs from a beautifully detailed, high quality vintage chain that is 18 karat hard gold plate. The chain also has a brilliant shine.
