The Monarch Mystic

This is a stunning Monarch butterfly. She was ethically sourced and is now honoured in creation.
I kept going back and forth on which side of her wings to feature, but
after placing this dark crystal against her I chose the hauntingly unique side that I called side 'A'.

The heavier dramatic contrast and black saturation of the 'A' side of the wings just came to life with this repurposed vintage piece.
It was part of a very old brooch and now is a grand centrepiece for this beautiful butterfly.

It is crafted from a large tear shaped Czech Crystal, surrounded by dazzling rhinestone crystals.
Below this I have set dangles of sterling silver drops with black glass tube beads, and on top of the setting I have added a sterling silver hanging bale.

To complete this creation I've hung her onto a stainless steel vintage chain, and added silver beading at the centre as another eye catching feature. (Chain is adjustable from 45cm to 50cm in length)

This piece really challenged me, but I'm just so thrilled with how she finally turned out.
