This commisioned piece is a memorial for a precious,  much loved fur baby... a little dog called Luna. ❤️

My client wanted Luna's hair displayed on a dark blue background, with this butterfly that she chose.

I really hope I've done her justice .

The butterfly was ethically sourced (deceased when found) and I have embellished the wings with a galaxy of moons and stars...  to pay homage to little Luna's celestial name. This also compliments the sparkling centrepiece that is crafted from a repurposed vintage marcasite piece. I created a cosmic centre by spreading Lunas hair out as though it is moonbeams radiating from the crescent moon above. 

I have sealed and set this oval, and the wings with a high grade jewellery resin. 

To complete this little galaxy I have hung a sterling silver, holographic star from the centre. This symbolises a wishing star.

This celestial memorial now hangs from a vintage sterling silver chain so that Luna can be worn close to her owners heart.
