This stunning ring has been inspired by my love of dragons, Medieval tales, and fantasy.

I have crafted a 'dragon egg' using the exoskeleton of a beautiful, but broken,  beetle. The underside of the beetle was brilliantly coloured, and had long lineal 'scales' and amazing holographic-like reflections that instantly made me think of a dragons egg. 🐉 🥚 

In my fabled imagination, this precious egg was the last born to the only remaining Valerian Dragon. It yield incredible, magical powers even though it has yet to hatch, so it must be kept sacred and safe.

The protector of the dragon egg must hold much knowledge, and responsibility.

So I see this ring as a symbol of wisdom and protection...along with a little magic.❤️💫

The beetle belly has been set as the dragon egg into a very old sterling silver ring. I have repaired and re-shaped the ring and framed the oval bezel with a chain link border to add to the Medieval feel.

The 'dragon egg' is protected by the silver oval bezel surrounding it , and a layer of high grade crystal resin coats the top.

The ring is an Australian size 'P', that a size 7.5 U.S.
