'The Egyptian Enchantress'

This creation is my dedication to my love of Egypt.

It all started when I received  a beautiful green scarab beetle that reflects hues of blues and aqua in different lights. My mind went straight to Egypt. ❤
I also had a lanternfly with wonderful wings...perfect to set with the scarab.
(Both insects were ethically sourced and were not killed for art.)

I have pressed, preserved and coated the wings, adding flakes of genuine 24ct gold for a shimmering lux look.
The Scarab is preserved and set in an 18ct, rolled gold pendant. I've combined these insects and elements to create the ancient Winged Scarab symbol, which signifies re-birth and new beginnings.

I have re-created the vibrant colours and culture of Egypt using small brass coins, gold plated beading, and glass beads in red, blue, turquoise and green.

I then set this stunning piece from a high quality, gold plated brass chain.
(Chain has open links so is adjustable in length)
So much work, but so very happy with how this piece turned out.
