This 'frozen in time' moment
depicts the story of a Lunar Fairy named Astrid.
She is presenting a blessing star to the New Moon.

At the start of every Moon cycle,  Lunar Fairy Astrid creates a beautiful twinkling star, and presents it to the new Moon when he emerges.
This is a blessing to signify rebirth, hope, and the start of a new beginning.

Once the Moon acknowledges this blessing, Astrid flies high into the cosmos and places the star amongst all of the others.
Once it is in place, it can be wished upon by the earthlings down below .

Since the very beginning of time, this special ritual has been performed.
Hence, every single star we see has started as a blessing to the Moon, and thanks to the Lunar Fairy, we have a night sky filled with infinite blessings and wishes.

Now for the details:
This enchanting creation
started with a gorgeous antique fob watch case that was broken, and in need of tlc.
I have repaired it and repurposed it into a beautiful big locket that now houses this captivating scene.

It is all solid sterling silver, rather heavy in weight, and features intricate hand engravings on both sides.
I have handpainted a micro night sky inside, and set it with dozens of celestial stars ; these are tiny prismatic glass orbs that catch and reflect light beautifully...just like a shimmering star.

The Cresecent moon is made from cast pewter, and I have detailed his face, giving him a calm expression and warm eyes.

Fairy Astrid is also crafted from cast pewter, and her delicate wings are those of the Queen Bee I featured in a recent post.

The wings have been coated and preserved with touches of micro shimmer for night time Fairy magic.
I have given her tiny copper antenna tipped with more shimmer.
The blessing Star being held by Astrid is a clear Swarovski Crystal.

This is all safely and securely set into the Fob Locket which opens by pressing the button on the top, and it snaps securely shut.
I have hung this from an antique, sterling silver double curb chain,  so this entire creation showcases  old world craftsmanship.

Fob Locket measures 5cm in diameter, 7.5cm tall including loop and fittings.
