'The Bite of Betrothal'

This bespoke ring is crafted using the ethically sourced redback spider featured earlier.
She has been uncurled and repositioned into a 'living' position onto a white enamel background, and is surrounded by genuine 24 carat gold flakes.
The ring is solid sterling silver, and I've given it a hammered finish. The deep bezel securely holds and protects the spider, and the finishing touch is a solid 9ct gold border of chain. 

The ring size is a U.S size 8.

I'm always composing fables in my head for each piece I create, so here's another.

This piece is symbolic of a trusting Elven princess name Elina, who was tricked by an evil Goblin. 🧝‍♀️
He was dressed in a silk suit and told her he was her coach driver, taking her to wed her Elvin Prince, but he abducted her, imprisoned her, and married her himself.

Elina was a prisoner of a marriage that she could not break free of.

Trapped in a miserable dull room, her only friends were the spiders that would come and sit on her shoulders, and weave their glistening webs around her as they listened to her cry her tears each night.

They hatched a plan to help their heartbroken princess friend; so one night, one of the Widow spiders stung the Goblin a hundred times in his sleep,..... and he never woke up.
The spider then crawled into the door lock and opened it.

Elina was finally free!

The chain symbolises the imprisonment she felt, the Spider is symbolic of the constant sting of betrayal, but is also the hero of this story, freeing her of the matrimonial chains that bound her.
