Introducing "Mirror Mirror!!!"
This beguiling wicked piece was inspired by the Evil Queen and her mirror in Snow White.

I have always been entranced by the magic mirror, so I wanted to create my own.
My version is that the Mirror reflects the Queens darkness, so there's no beauty,... when she looks in the mirror, she sees herself as the Evil spirit that she truly is.

Rather than tell her shes the "Fairest of them all", the mirror tells her that she is the "Darkest of Them All"
I always love a good twist in a tale.

I have created this piece using the wings from the ethically sourced black cicada in my previous post.
I have preserved and coated them, and they are set onto a hauntingly beautiful centrepiece.
This is crafted from pewter, stainless steel and sterling silver.
The little mirror and its frame are in pewter, the skull and crown are sterling silver, and the magical 'rays' coming from the magic mirror are stainless steel.

I tipped each ray with a holographic teardrop fleck so that it reflects prisms of colour in the light. This represents the vain Queen's dark tears that she sheds when seeing her true self.

The back of the mirror (not shown) also has some enchanted sparkle to represent its magic.

I have hung this scene from a black stainless steel 45cm chain that has a clear crystal set two thirds along each side. So you will get a little sparkle up at the sides of your neck.
