Introducing 'Kaartijin Noongar' Aboriginal for Tree of Knowledge.
Inspired by all things nature..and of my own indigenous heritage. (My ancestors are Wadjuri Mob)

This piece incorporates my vision of what knowledge truly is.
ie: A connection to nature, a knowing spirit, and an earthy soul. Wisdom is not just learned from reading books, it is a gift that is given by Mother Earth, born from an organic connection to nature.

This creation started with the little piece of tree that I recently found. I saw an eye as soon as I found it so I set an eye into the void to symbolise the mother natures observation and knowing. This is wrapped in bronze and is adorned with a bronze ankh cross to symbolise eternal life, and a bronze heart to represent the source of living beings.
Flanking this centrepiece are dried 'skeleton' leaves that have been pressed and coated, and set with Native Gumnuts. There are Natural Smokey Quartz points wrapped in Copper, and more Gumnuts wrapped in Bronze.
This all hangs from a solid copper chain. I chose copper for this creation as it is a great conductor of healing, and stimulates the heart and brain.

The chain is 55cm long but can be adjusted if need be.
Kaartijin Noongar has been created with my heart and soul, and I truly hope she goes to someone who will alos cherish her meaning and purpose.
